Invisalign Vs. Clear Correct

If you are looking in the mirror and seeing teeth that are no longer straight, it might be time to seek dental treatment. If traditional metal braces are something you want to avoid, two other options are available: Invisalign and Clear Correct.

Invisalign

If you choose Invisalign, the dentist will create 3D image of your teeth. From that imaging, a hard, transparent shell is created to that will fit over your teeth. Rather than having metal braces installed and constantly adjusted, these aligners are changed out over time as the teeth are adjusted. In essence, you get the same results as you would from metal braces without the perceived unsightliness of the metal braces and wires.

Much like traditional braces, the length of treatment varies from patient to patient. Typically, though, each set of aligners are changed out every few weeks.

When it comes to cost, most dentists charge somewhere between $5,000 and $10,000 for these treatments. And yes, that is a significant range, but you must realize the cost is based on how many different sets a patient will need throughout the process. Those with significant gaps or alignment problems will no doubt cost far more.

Clear Correct

The biggest difference in Clear Correct is the plan offers two options with very specific amount of aligners and well as an unlimited plan. For people needing only minor adjustment, the Limited 6 plan is probably the best option. Whereas someone with significant gapping and alignment problems would choose the Limited 12 or more likely, the unlimited plan.

The wearing of the actual trays is a bit longer for Clear Correct than Invisalign. Whereas Invisalign trays are changed out roughly every three weeks, Clear Correct trays are changed out between four and six-week intervals.

Pricing for these plans will also vary on exactly what is needed by the patient. In most cases, though, the lower end of the scale is about $3,000 as compared to the unlimited plan, which can cost between $8,000 - $10,000. The biggest savings here compared to Invisalign would be in choosing the Limited 6 plan.
