Ideas for Tooth Fairy Letters
For parents, there are many important milestones and special
moments children look forward to in their quest to grow up fast. One of the
biggest ones on their list is losing their first tooth, helped largely by
stories of a magical tooth fairy who takes away lost teeth and leaves money as
a result. It’s a milestone that excites kids and is one their parents treasure
as one of the more important moments of their kids’ childhoods. It’s a memory
saved right alongside the child’s first haircut, first day of school, or first
vacation.
So, as a way of making this pertinent moment even more grand and special, here are a few ideas for letters that either parents can draft from the tooth fairy or kids can write to the tooth fairy. Either way, the extra effort will make the first “tooth fairy” visit all the more memorable.
Letter from the Tooth Fairy
For parents who want to leave a letter for their child, try drafting one that simply thanks him or her for the tooth. Throw in some entertaining background info regarding the tooth fairy and the distant fairy land she hails from. As well, parents can decorate the tooth fairy letter with things like glitter glue, maybe in the child’s favorite color, along with some sparkling glitter for good measure.
Parents can even try adding themes the child may like, such as Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter – no tooth fairies in those stories but magic nonetheless. No matter how parents want to do it, there are plenty of outlines for tooth fairy letters online they can look to for ideas.
Letter for the Tooth Fairy
As a way of promoting gratitude and thankfulness, parents could try helping their child draft a letter for the “tooth fairy” after she came, took the tooth, and left payment under the child’s pillow. If the child hasn’t mastered writing just yet, the parents can write down the child’s letter as he or she comes up with it and recites it. Let the child add the letter’s final touches by coloring the letter or by signing his or her name to it.
From there, seal the letter into an envelope beneath the child's pillow, and make sure to leave a proper response to the child’s letter. Both the tooth and the letter will make wonderful keepsakes for later years when you look back and remember those special moments fondly and clearly. Parents can also get as creative as they want in finding ways to incorporate good oral hygiene tips into this experience—maybe the tooth fairy can leave an extra gift for cavity-free teeth.
